Frequently asked questions
Everything people usually ask about getting started with AskBruxy, how it works, the plans and privacy — by topic.
Getting started and the trial
Nothing: you set up the account and the chatbot yourself in the customer portal, and you can try your first account free for 14 days, no card required (or start on a plan straight away). If we install the embed code on your website, that is a one-time HUF 49,000 + VAT (orderable in the portal); if you paste it yourself, it is free. After that you only pay the monthly or yearly fee of your plan, with no lock-in.
Yes. Sign up in the customer portal (askbruxy.com/app), confirm your email address, and the portal takes you straight to creating your chatbot: just enter your website, and the account and the chatbot are created right away — for your first account the 14-day Pro trial is preselected, no card required (you can choose a plan instead). We preselect the most important pages for it to learn from (you can review and change them), then you get the embed code. Put it on your site soon: your website counts as verified once the code is on its home page (if you added it with Tag Manager, write to us and we verify it manually); without verification the website is reserved for 7 days, after which, if someone else signs up with the same website, the unverified chatbot is deleted together with its knowledge. During the trial: up to 100 conversations a month, 50 pages, 10 documents and 5 AI runs. The trial is only for your first account (if you already have an account or started a trial, a further account starts once the chosen plan is paid), and one trial can be started per website. We email you a few days before it ends; at the end you continue by paying for the plan, nothing is charged automatically.
No. You add a single script line to your site, with no build step and no external dependency. In WordPress, Shopify or Google Tag Manager this can be done from the admin. If you prefer, we do the installation for a one-time fee — orderable in the portal.
A chatbot belongs to one website: it works on the given domain and its www pair (for example example.com and www.example.com), not on other subdomains. For more websites you create more chatbots in the same account — your plan sets how many, and the Extra chatbot add-on extends it for HUF 6,900 + VAT per month. Chatbots can have a shared and their own knowledge base.
AskBruxy was built by W5labs, and its team supports our customers. W5labs is a technology partner to businesses all over Hungary, and also works on AI visibility. The service provider (the contracting party and the issuer of the invoices) is Soulances Kft.; its company details are in the imprint.
Write to support@askbruxy.com: we reply within 24 hours on business days. You can ask about setup, the knowledge base or billing. We have no phone support and no live chat. If you would rather not paste the embed code yourself, you can order the installation in the portal for a one-time HUF 49,000 + VAT.
How the bot answers
From pages selected from your website's sitemap, plus uploaded PDF, DOCX, TXT and Markdown documents (up to 10 MB each). With the webshop module we also import your product feed (Google Merchant XML, CSV, TSV). Page text is read from the downloaded HTML, so content rendered only by JavaScript is not visible to the bot. In the customer portal you can pick the pages yourself in the sitemap tree, upload documents and — with the webshop module — set the product feed address.
The bot can only answer from text retrieved from your knowledge base, and weak matches never reach the language model: when nothing relevant is found, the bot sees that there is no relevant match. On product cards, the price, link and image always come from the catalogue, not from the model. Nobody can give a full guarantee with a language model, but these limits greatly reduce the chance of error.
Always in the language the visitor last wrote in. The widget labels are available in Hungarian, English and German and follow your website's language.
Yes. On every plan a sync can also be started manually in the customer portal (with a daily allowance per chatbot), and the Pro and Business plans can also update weekly. New pages that have appeared in the sitemap since are added automatically (this can be switched off per chatbot; pages you deliberately left out are not brought back), pages that no longer exist are removed, and unchanged pages are not reprocessed. If a page, document or the product feed fails to process, we email you. The product catalogue is also a regularly refreshed copy, not a live lookup in the webshop.
It says it has no information on that and offers to have a colleague get in touch. You receive the conversation summary and the visitor's details by email: for a new chatbot at the account contact's address, which you can change in the chatbot settings (and add a phone callback), or you can switch handoff off. There is no live chat or operator takeover.
No, there is no appointment booking. The bot explains how to request an appointment (for example by linking your booking page), and if the visitor wants, it takes their contact details and forwards them to you with a summary.
No. It sends the visitor to the right page, or takes their contact details for you.
Setup and appearance
Yes, in the customer portal: the name, the welcome message and other texts per language, the suggested questions, handoff to your team and — depending on your plan — colours and logo, the proactive greeting, the display mode and custom instructions. Every save can be looked up in the History, and an earlier state can be restored with one click. The “Optimise with AI” assistant suggests settings based on your knowledge base after a few questions — you choose what to apply; you can also ask for AI suggestions for the suggested questions and the webshop glossary (from a monthly allowance).
Yes, on the Pro and Business plans. Per chatbot you choose: bubble (widget), full-page AI search, or both. You place the search with one extra element where you want it (for example on a separate subpage), or as a button that opens it in a window on click. Source links, product cards and lead forwarding work in it the same way. Live demo: askbruxy.com/demo.
Yes: on the Business plans the “Powered by AskBruxy” footer is not shown. It is also available with any plan as an add-on: No “Powered by” label, HUF 7,900 + VAT / chatbot / month. You set the colour, the logo, the position (bottom right or left) and the light / dark look in the customer portal, depending on your plan.
Yes. The account owner can invite colleagues by email in the customer portal (Members); an invitation is valid for 7 days. Members manage the chatbots and the knowledge base and see the statistics, leads and conversations; the plan, billing, account settings and member management belong to the owner. One user can be a member of several accounts.
Leads and statistics
By email: for a new chatbot at the account contact’s address, which you can change in the chatbot settings. When a visitor asks for an appointment, a quote or a callback, or wants to talk to a person, the bot offers the contact form right away; when it sees something only you can answer, it first asks one or two questions about the need. On the form the visitor gives their name and email or phone number — the form tells them that their details and the conversation are passed on to you, and links to the privacy policy you set. You get a four-to-six-sentence summary of the conversation with the contact details, the chatbot's name and a link to the page where the visitor asked. On the Start, Pro and Business plans you also get a summary when the visitor writes their email address or phone number in the conversation instead of the form: we send it right after they write it, with the detected contact details and a summary of the conversation so far — to the handoff address, or if there is none, to the account contact. You also see every lead in the customer portal with an automatic qualification (what they are interested in, whether they want a quote, how urgent it is, a short summary), and can download them as CSV. There is no live chat or operator takeover.
Yes. In the customer portal (askbruxy.com/en/app), on your account page you see per chatbot how many times the widget loaded, how many visitors opened it, started a conversation and left contact details, for 7 or 30 days. On the Pro and Business plans you also get a breakdown by device, source (UTM), referring site and page. On every plan, the start page of your account also shows a monthly overview: impressions, conversations, leads, the trend of recent months, the most frequent topics and the leads of the month.
On the Pro and Business plans we send you a monthly summary at the start of every month, reviewed by our team: a short executive summary at the top, then how many visitors saw and used the chatbot, how many leads and quote requests it brought (and what share of conversations turned into a lead), how this developed over the last three months, which of your products and services people asked about most, what they asked about, what your site had no answer to and what held them back — together with our recommendations. On the Start, Pro and Business plans, every Monday the account owners get an automatic weekly email about the previous week: number of conversations and leads, how well the bot could answer and the most frequent topics, and on the Pro and Business plans the new topics without an answer as well. If there were no conversations that week, we send nothing. You can also check this in the portal at any time: for the current month the monthly overview shows a daily updated summary of what visitors could not find and what held them back, and for earlier months the summary we sent you. In the portal's Conversations view you can also read individual conversations (within the retention period, with automatic labels and topics), and in the Pro and Business plans the Knowledge gaps view shows what the bot could not answer — you can close a gap yourself with a short answer in the knowledge base (we suggest one for you), and the bot answers it from then on.
Not yet. Contact details and the conversation summary arrive by email, and you can download the leads as CSV from the customer portal.
For webshops
The Webshop module (product feed, product cards, exact product search) is an add-on to your plan for HUF 9,900 + VAT per month; you switch it on in the customer portal once your plan is paid (not during the trial) and enter your product feed address there too. You set up the account and the chatbot yourself, and you can try your first account free for 14 days — the bot then answers from your pages and documents, without product cards — or start on a plan straight away. If we install the code, that is a one-time HUF 49,000 + VAT; in Shopify or WordPress you can paste it yourself for free.
Google Merchant RSS/XML, CSV and TSV (the separator is detected automatically), up to 150,000 products. If you have no feed, we can build the catalogue from the structured data (schema.org/Product) of your product pages.
With exact filtering, not guessing: based on the visitor’s question it filters your catalogue by price range, brand, category, stock and other product attributes (for example “in stock, between HUF 20,000 and 40,000…”), and shows the results on product cards with image, price and a link to the product page. Price and link always come from the catalogue, so it cannot quote a wrong price. You teach it your own terms (for example that “puppy” means products for puppies) with a glossary.
The catalogue is a regularly refreshed copy, not a live lookup: it can be refreshed manually at any time, and weekly automatically on the Pro and Business plans. The bot shows prices and stock as of the latest sync.
No. The bot takes the shopper to the product page; the purchase happens in your webshop. There is no add-to-cart or order tracking.
Plans and payment
No new conversation starts. If handover is switched on, the widget still appears for new visitors, but instead of questions it asks for their contact details, which you receive by email; if handover is off, the widget does not appear. An informative message appears in an ongoing conversation. A conversation lasts at most 30 visitor messages: after that the widget offers to start a new conversation, which counts as a new one against the quota. There are no overage fees. We email you at 80 and 100 percent of the quota, and the quota resets the following month.
You choose or change the plan and the monthly or annual cycle in the customer portal (as the account owner); you pay by card on the SimplePay page and receive the invoice automatically. For renewals we also email you a payment link. There is no lock-in: cancel in the portal or by email to support@askbruxy.com, and everything works until the end of the paid period. 30 days after termination, the chatbots, knowledge base and conversations are permanently deleted.
Yes, in the customer portal, as the account owner. Moving to a bigger plan takes effect immediately and you only pay the difference for the rest of the period; moving to a smaller plan or between monthly and annual billing happens at the end of the paid period — until then your current plan stays, and no money or credit is refunded. Add-ons work the same way: adding is immediate with the difference, removing takes effect at the end of the period.
Yes. If none of the plans fits your needs (for example you have a very large number of pages or several websites), write to us using the contact form, and we will put together a custom plan for your account. Agencies are welcome too, if you would like to offer AskBruxy to your own clients. The plan calculator also takes you there when no plan covers your needs.
Privacy
No. The widget sets no cookies and stores no IP address or browser fingerprint. It keeps a signed session identifier in the browser’s local storage so the visitor can continue the conversation within 24 hours, remembers the chosen panel size and — if the proactive bubble was shown — for up to 30 days that it should not appear again; for the aggregate statistics it uses an anonymous measurement identifier that disappears when the browser tab is closed.
Depending on your plan, for 60, 90 or 180 days; after that a daily process deletes them permanently, not just hides them. The account owner can delete individual conversations earlier in the customer portal. If the account is closed, the chatbots, the knowledge base and the conversations are permanently deleted after 30 days.
Conversations, the knowledge base and account data are stored on servers in Germany. To produce the answer, the question, the address of the page the visitor is writing from and the matching parts of your knowledge base go to Anthropic’s language model, and for search to Voyage AI; both are US-based data processors, and transfers take place under the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. The full list is in the privacy policy.
